David Conway, LCSW
I understand that counseling can sometimes seem scary and anxiety provoking because of the uncertainties. My goal and the goal of Monarch Wellness is to give you and your family a safe and comfortable environment while offering the best counseling services possible. Joseph Campbell once said, “Your sacred space is where you can find yourself again and again.” I believe counseling can assist in that process of finding your true self and my goal is to provide that space. I will work with you to provide a treatment plan that best meets your specific needs which may include individual, couples, or family counseling.
I graduated Ferris State University in Big Rapids Michigan with my Bachelors in Social Work. From there I was accepted into the Advanced Standing Clinical Social Work program at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo Michigan. I graduated there with my Masters in Clinical Social Work. I began working with children and youth at a residential facility which housed and treated neglected, abused, and delinquent youth and children. Since 2010 I have worked as a psychotherapist working with individuals, children, families, and couples. I have received certifications in Gottman Couples Therapy, working with difficult children, and others.
My passion is being a part of helping people learn better and more effective ways of communicating. Watching them communicate and work through their issues in a way they have never done before is why I enjoy couples and family therapy. I have worked with children who have difficult behaviors for several years, so I have a great understanding of the support parents need in order to cope with their child’s struggles. I also treat areas of grief, adjustments, depression, anxiety, anger, and other mental health related issues and personality disorders.
We must be willing to get rid of the life we’ve planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us.
