Jenna Waterbury is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Florida. In addition, she is also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Michigan. As a family therapist, she continues to assist parents and their children through difficult time periods.
Jenna has experience working with individuals of all ages and specializes in working with children and their parents. She also facilitates couples therapy and individual counseling for teens and adults struggling through life transitions, or with anxiety or family issues.
She utilizes a cognitive behavioral approach to therapy, along with a variety of other counseling techniques including play therapy. She has experience helping children with issues such as attachment, ADHD, behavioral challenges, social skills, anger management and other issues causing disruptions in the child’s home or school environment.
She previously worked as an in-home therapist for families affected by substance abuse, domestic violence, abuse and neglect and other obstacles. Jenna specializes in helping families work through transitions while prioritizing the needs of their children when making decisions. She provides a safe and nurturing counseling environment which allows individuals to open up and process challenges they are facing.
She has clinical experience as a hospice social worker, in which she provides counseling, support, and education to individuals and families with life limiting illnesses.
She is passionate about advocating for individuals and families and empowering them to change. She believes that each individual has their own unique story. She tailors her interventions and techniques to each individual she sees so that she is able to meet the client where they are and help them get to where they want to be.
Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood.
